Is the BAK file enough to restore a DB?
For DB, you sent a BAK file with the backup of the database to restore, but this cannot be the deployment process. Dont you need to send deployment scripts (.sql) with a schema and base configuration data, as well as database creation instructions such as collations, sizing base and estimated growth dimension, access users and permissions?
Genio doesnt need to build manually or execute schema deployment scripts. Conceptually, the model is designed in our code generation framework Genio, being therefore a meta-model that later is transformed in code automatically, by the framework itself. These scripts can be run from the Administration Portal whenever you deploy a version that involves changes to the relational model (or in the initial creation of a Database when it does not yet exist). The scripts are not designed to be executed manually, there is additional business logic along with their execution as well as replacing some placeholders in the scripts (eg, DB name).
